Penny Police

Penny Police is the alias of Copenhagen based singer and songwriter Marie Fjeldsted, who has impressed the press with her alternative songwriting and her airy voice.

She has been compared to Agnes Obel and Emiliana Torrini but truly has found her own niche as MOJO Magazine pointed out when they made her a highlight at SPOT Festival in 2014 with the words “Penny Police is way ahead in the way she thinks music”.

Despite taking cautious steps into her musical career, she has already been widely lauded both for her debut album, EP’s and live concerts in Denmark and abroad: “Truly one of the most beautiful female vocalists at the Iceland Airwaves music festival. Penny Police‘s vocals will send chills up your spine.” (New York Grapevine).

She has been praised for her ability to write songs that combine the advanced with the accessible. She likes it simple and honest, gives room for both vulnerability and strength and with a rare proximity in both her songs and stage performance she touches old as young. She writes with her heart, full of integrity and full of hit potential.

Her first single “No Horizon” from her upcoming album is in airplay rotation on danish radio P6 and Amazing Radio in the UK.
